Refresher Update Weekends for current Yogalates Teachers...

Once a student has completed their training and become fully certified with the Yoga Pilates Training Academy Australia they are then able to join our annual update workshops which extend over a period 2 - 4 days. At each update workshop we aim to include the latest developments in the industry as well as giving a focus on developing and honing teaching skills. Previous workshops have included working with weights for bone density, teaching on the fitball and foam roller, pre-natal Yoga/Yogalates, postural evaluation, Orthobionomy (a gentle yet effective bodywork with self care exercises to prescribe to clients), chanting and chakras, pranayama (breathing techniques) and more....

The workshops have been a great success and have given us the encouragement to continue to make them even more informative, interesting and fun filled. The stories shared about individual teaching experiences and how much the general public have gained through the Yogalates method is very rewarding. It has made us realise how invaluable the workshop is as a forum for sharing, refining and developing the work further.

The enthusiasm of the participants is very contagious and it is sensational to see the buzz on their faces as they integrate and assimilate the new work. The feedback received has been invaluable confirmation that we’re on the right track and that the many long hours the Academy spends on developing this method is all worthwhile. The workshops are a fabulous opportunity for learning new techniques, refreshing teaching skills and making new friends within the Yogalates community, as well as a catch up with old friends from your training.

Testimonials

I really enjoyed the workshop and I took a lot of new ideas and motivations home for my teaching. It was great to revise the 4 patterns again and how to use them in different positions. Meeting European teachers and learning how they organise classes and studios was also interesting and brought new ideas. It was fantastic to meet Louise and Crystal again and being part of everybodies enthusiasm of this wonderful exercise system. Thank you , Louise and Crystal for putting in the effort to organise this.

Hello to everyone
xx Gabi

I enjoyed the workshop SO much, thank you to both Solomon ladies for your warmth and wealth of knowledge!  As usual their teaching was truly inspiring, encouraging me to approach my teaching with a fresh perspective and embrace new ideas and exercises.  It's also wonderful to meet new Yogalates teachers in the UK and learn from their experiences, I feel like I’ve made an array of new friends and colleagues!  The weights training was thorough and I never felt any question went unanswered.  I will definitely be incorporating the weights into my teaching from now on, particularly with my private one to one lessons.  What a pleasure :)

Overview:

Recognizing and rehabilitating movement dysfunction linked to pain problems

The workshop will commence on the Friday evening with a remedial class 6-8pm where participants can experience moving more from the deep system and activating the fundamental patterns of spinal control. Over the weekend, workshop participants will learn how to:

·      recognize and assess the common dysfunctional postural and movement strategies and

·      how to retrain the Fundamental Patterns of ‘core’ control and then

·      re-establish these basic patterns into the various yoga postures

This approach is both preventative and rehabilitative.

.     The Pelvic Crossed Syndromes: the two primary pictures of apparent torso dysfunction: allow  simple basic sub-group classification:

a.    Posterior Pelvic Crossed Syndrome (PPXS)

b.    Anterior Pelvic Crossed Syndrome (APXS)

.     The Clinical Syndromes: manifestations of the 1⁰ Pelvic Crossed Syndromes

·      The Pelvic Crossed Syndromes:

o   PPXS

o   APXS

o   Mixed Syndrome (MS)

o   The shoulder crossed syndrome (SXS)

·      The Layer Syndrome (LS)

·      The Belted Torso Syndrome (BTS)

Reading the body: posturo-movement assessment in standing:

. Observation of habitual posture: identifying the Clinical Syndromes allows one to predict the expected movement responses

. Testing functional movements: forward bending; standing poses etc. - quality & predictable patterns of N/M response: confirms subgroup classification?

.     Assessment & retrainingof the deep stabilising system of the axial spine: Co-ordinating breathing & postural control in supine, side lying, prone, & antigravity.

.     Common pelvic/hip girdle dysfunctions; assessment & retraining the Fundamental Pelvic Patterns and related Lower Pelvic Unit function

Overview:

Ortho- Bionomy, is a holistic system of body-work which relieves tension patterns without the use of force. Instead, comfortable positions, light compression and positional release are used. This triggers the body’s own innate ability to self correct and re-educates it into more functionality and equilibrium, correcting misunderstandings and dissolving compensatory tension patterns. The workshop will focus on the alignment of the pelvis and will consist of lecture, discussion, demonstration and primarily hands on practice of the techniques.

Major benefits of working with Ortho-Bionomy;

  • No pain to release pain

  • Easy on the Practitioner

  • No danger of repetitive strain on Practitioner

  • Release techniques quick and easy to find

  • Client releases at a rate they can handle and integrate

  • Highly effective

  • Extremely simple

  • New paradigm of effortlessness

Ortho-Bionomy works to resolve chronic and acute conditions with all physical, emotional and mental conditions.
